System Design Electrical Engineer

Starting Pay $59.75 per hour

In this role, you will directly contribute to the design, development, and testing of critical electrical systems and equipment that support the entire lifecycle of advanced aerospace platforms and weapons systems. As a System Design Electrical Engineer, you will:
Develop and document electrical systems, components, and interfaces.
Perform hardware/software integration and system schematic analysis.
Design electrical wiring to adapt to test articles and sub-assemblies.
Support fabrication, installation, and verification of equipment and connections.
Conduct system requirements analysis, testing, and sell-off verification.
Select electrical hardware (cables, connectors, shielding, etc.).
Collaborate with lab and flight test teams on instrumentation and data acquisition.
Utilize MBSE tools (DOORS, Cameo, simulations) for system architecture and trade studies.
Resolve issues with fielded hardware/software throughout the product lifecycle.
Bachelor of Science in engineering, computer science, physics, math, chemistry, or data science.
3+ years’ experience in electrical avionics system design, including:
Electrical systems/subsystems design and interface cable design.
Hardware/software integration and lab testing.
Vendor coordination and part selection.
Knowledge of VPX/VME form factors.
Familiarity with RS422/RS232, PC104, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IEEE-488, MMSI, and MIL-STD-1553.
Experience with product/systems development and integration.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience with CAD and creating electrical schematics.
Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472).
Cybersecurity knowledge or CompTIA Security+ certification.
Experience with network design and MBSE tools (DOORS, Cameo).
Knowledge of earned value management and engineering schedules/metrics.
