Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join our powerhouse operations team in Lake Orion. This role requires a high-pressure boiler license and an EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related systems. Experience with welding, pipefitting, pump rebuilds, and wastewater treatment systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate, monitor, and maintain hydronic boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and supporting mechanical systems
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds on centrifugal and pneumatic pumps, motors, and valves
• Conduct vibration analysis and mechanical alignment on rotating equipment
• Support wastewater treatment systems and cooling tower water chemical treatment
• Carry out welding, fabrication, and pipefitting tasks for system maintenance and repair
• Maintain accurate logs, meter readings, and documentation of all powerhouse systems
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot system malfunctions promptly
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure reliable operation
• Adhere to EPA compliance, OSHA safety standards, and environmental regulations
• Participate in safety programs, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance activities
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school preferred
• Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience operating boilers, chillers, and hydronic systems
• High-pressure boiler license (required)
• EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in pump/motor repair, rebuild, and alignment
• Proficiency in welding, pipefitting, and fabrication techniques
• Knowledge of vibration analysis tools, DDC controls, and PLC systems
• Familiarity with wastewater and cooling tower operations
• Experience with CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
• Must be available to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
