About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Direct Buyer Specialist to join our team, partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry. In this critical role, you’ll manage procurement activities that keep production running smoothly and on time. From overseeing supplier relationships to ensuring cost efficiency and delivery assurance, your work will directly impact the success of aerospace manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do

• Execute procurement processes, including RFQs, purchase orders, engineering changes, and metrics reporting.

• Manage purchasing activities for materials, goods, and services—negotiating favorable terms that align with organizational objectives.

• Respond to inquiries on order status, changes, and cancellations to maintain excellent customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Program teams to resolve supply chain challenges.

• Identify and mitigate risks that could disrupt production or cause critical line stops.

• Analyze quotes and financial data to support cost-effective procurement decisions.

• Monitor supplier performance and enforce compliance with contracts.

• Coordinate with suppliers to expedite or reschedule deliveries when needed.

• Drive process improvements and apply continuous improvement principles across procurement functions.

• Support delivery assurance by ensuring on-time, high-quality, cost-efficient results.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

• Experience in procurement and supplier management in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to analyze financial data and supplier quotes to drive cost-effective decisions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
  
  This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in SAP and ERP-driven procurement systems.

• Background in aerospace industry standards and practices.

• Technical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.

• Skilled in Tableau and advanced Excel tools (pivot tables) for data analysis.

• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and sourcing a wide range of commodities.
