Description:
The position of Project Engineer (PE) requires a strong, motivated and detail-oriented individual with a direct background and experience in engineering technical and management activities. The PE reports to the Head of Engineering and is responsible for all technical and engineering management aspects of a given project. The PE is required to work closely with the Program Manager (PM) to ensure the overall aspects of a project meet or exceed customer expectation, as well as satisfy the internal project performance goals set by the company. Role and Responsibilities: The PE must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and the certification authority to plan work and resolve technical issues. The qualified individual must also be able to commit to deadlines, demonstrate consistent and reliable work habits, and exhibit increased proficiency in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. The PE must work closely with the PM(s) assigned to the project. The PE is responsible for managing and monitoring the technical aspects and some commercial aspects of the overall statement of work, project schedule, action items and engineering deliverables. The PE will support and attend review meetings with the customer and act as the project focal. The PE is responsible to support the PM team and the Head of Engineering for quoting and proposal activities. For specific projects which the PE has been delegated responsibility, he/she is responsible to plan, develop, organize, coordinate and control the tasks and resources of engineering. This includes but not limited to its estimated hours, schedule, manpower loading, as well as the control and monitoring of design engineering, liaison engineering, certification and structural substantiation activities. The PE may be responsible for multiple engineering projects at one time. For each engineering project, the PE will be assigned personnel from the engineering group or Outside Engineering Service Vendor (OSV) to work on the project. The number and period of the personnel and OSV working in the project may vary depending on the work scope and schedule of the project.
A minimum of 7 years experience in the aerospace industry. Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical design engineering. Minimum 3 years of direct experience in the aircraft modification and/or VIP Completions industry. Ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute engineering projects. Knowledge of industry practices and regulations including CARs, JARs, FARs, Advisory Circulars and Orders. Ability to review and check design drawings of various aircraft modifications. Knowledge and experience in airframe structural analysis is a plus. Ability to review and check structural analysis reports is a plus. Familiar with AS 9100 and/or ISO 9000 processes is a plus.
