Aerospace Products Repair/Modification Technician
Location: New Orleans, LA (NAS JRB – Belle Chasse)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) | 9x80 Schedule
Job Type: Full-time | 12-Month Consultant Assignment (with possible extension through 2027)
Starting Pay Rate: $37.05 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the aerospace industry to hire a skilled Aerospace Products Repair/Modification Technician. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the readiness and safety of advanced military aircraft by inspecting, repairing, and maintaining critical systems. Your expertise will directly support flight safety and mission success.
As a Product Repair Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and repairing aircraft seats and canopy ejection systems, oxygen systems, fire extinguishing systems, and environmental controls.
Removing, installing, inspecting, and rigging ejection seats, Cartridge Actuation Devices (CADs), regulators, gauges, converters, and harnesses.
Performing daily, pre- and post-flight, turnaround, and periodic aircraft inspections.
Supporting flight operations including launch, recovery, and plane captain activities.
Assembling, disassembling, and modifying aerospace systems to correct failures or implement upgrades.
Troubleshooting complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate and repair faults.
Conducting validation and verification testing of components and systems.
Documenting inspections, repairs, and modifications to ensure compliance with regulations.
Verifying flight-worthiness and prioritizing quality and safety in all work performed.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of related aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent education/experience).
Hands-on experience with aircraft ejection systems and related maintenance.
Proven experience removing, installing, and inspecting aircraft systems and tools.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a physical, hands-on environment.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Navy AME background or equivalent military aircraft maintenance training.
Experience performing inspections and repairs on F/A-18 aircraft.
Strong troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
