Electrical Technician
Location: New Orleans, LA (NAS JRB – Belle Chasse)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) | 9x80 Schedule
Job Type: Full-time | 12-Month Consultant Assignment (extension confirmed through 2027)
Pay Rate: $37.00 - $43.00/Hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global aerospace leader to hire an experienced Electrical Technician. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and avionics systems on advanced fighter aircraft. Your expertise will help ensure mission readiness, flight safety, and peak aircraft performance.
As an Electrical Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining, removing, and installing aircraft avionics/electrical components and equipment.
Performing daily, pre- and post-flight, turnaround, and periodic inspections.
Supporting flight operations including launch, recovery, and plane captain activities.
Assembling, disassembling, and modifying systems to correct failures or implement upgrades.
Troubleshooting complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to isolate and repair faults.
Performing validation and verification testing of systems and components.
Documenting inspections, repairs, and modifications to meet regulatory and safety standards.
Verifying flight-worthiness and ensuring compliance with quality and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED plus at least 4 years of related aircraft electrical/avionics experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
Minimum 5 years of military fighter aircraft maintenance experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
Able to lift up to 35 pounds and work outdoors in varied conditions with exposure to noise and exhaust.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Willingness to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fighter avionics/electrical modification experience.
F/A-18 (AT/AE) qualifications.
Familiarity with Navy 4790.1 maintenance requirements.
