As a Structural Mechanic Trainee, you’ll receive hands-on training, learning the processes behind manufacturing and servicing aircraft structures. This is a unique opportunity to build the skills you need to launch a career in aerospace mechanics, all while working alongside experienced professionals who will guide your growth.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Training & Development: Under direct supervision, you’ll learn how to perform structural assembly operations such as fitting parts and performing basic drilling, riveting, and fastening tasks using mechanic hand tools.
Hands-On Learning: Operate basic tools like pneumatic drills, rivet guns, and reamers to perform detailed tasks, with a focus on precision and accuracy.
Blueprint Interpretation: Learn how to read and follow work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine the sequence of operations and required tasks.
Part Assembly & Alignment: Assist with aligning parts and assemblies, using holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners, ensuring high-quality work.
Quality Assurance: Ensure parts and work meet manufacturing and Quality Control standards by working closely with supervisors and inspectors.
Progressive Independence: As your skills and knowledge grow, you’ll take on more responsibilities and work with decreasing supervision.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in hands-on work.
Communication: Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English; strong listening and computer skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.
Work Schedule: Must be available to work any shift.
Preferred:
Enrollment in a Technical Aviation program or related coursework.
Basic understanding of shop math, including reading scales.
A passion for aviation and a desire to grow in the aerospace industry.
