PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer III to support our Customer's aerospace operations. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production or post-production environment. You’ll take ownership of complex technical challenges, lead process improvements, and drive results across engineering, operations, and quality teams. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency, safety, and success of advanced aerospace manufacturing programs. What You'll Do:Working with minimal supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer III will lead efforts in planning, problem-solving, and implementing manufacturing solutions to improve production outcomes. Responsibilities include:
Conduct complex technical studies and analyze operations to recommend equipment, tooling, and production methods.
Author detailed work instructions and DRDI/DMT rework instructions to enable high-quality, defect-free manufacturing processes.
Develop and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM) in SAP, Solumina, or Corridor to support accurate part installation and workflow.
Create make-or-buy proposals, participate in vendor negotiations, and recommend corrective actions for procurement-related challenges.
Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and productibility studies to align engineering intent with production capability.
Apply statistical methods to forecast future manufacturing needs and generate operational data reports.
Prioritize workload based on production schedules and resource availability; provide timelines and estimates to leadership.
Develop and present business cases for process improvement initiatives to gain executive buy-in.
Serve as a project leader, coordinating implementation across multiple departments.
Supervise, mentor, and train junior engineers, assigning work and reviewing output to ensure alignment with company standards.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to all aspects of process design and improvement.
Support organizational goals for safety, sustainability, and ergonomics.
Act as a key decision-maker and assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the ME Group Head.
Qualifications:Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing engineering, production planning, or related technical experience in a production or post-production environment.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, JIT, SMED, KanBan, VSM, One Piece Flow).
Working knowledge of Six Sigma or other data-driven decision-making methods.
Solumina experience is required.
Proficiency with SAP, Corridor, CATIA, CADAM, V5, SmarTeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, quality standards, tooling, and shop math.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects independently.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
Manufacturing floor support, discrepancy rework planning, and engineering planning experience may be required.
