Quality Inspection Technician
Location: Monroe, NC 28110

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (First Shift)
Pay Rate: $34.00 per hour

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Quality Inspection Technician to join the Additive Design and Manufacturing (ADaM) team at a leading aerospace facility in Monroe, NC. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary quality inspector, ensuring additively manufactured components meet rigorous aerospace standards. You will manage the metrology lab, oversee inspection equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest level of quality and compliance.
Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of additively manufactured components using advanced metrology techniques (3D Scanner, CMM, etc.).
Manage setup, qualification, and maintenance of inspection equipment.
Review and approve outsourced inspection activities, serving as the primary contact for external providers.
Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R).
Operate and maintain metrology and calibration systems, coordinating troubleshooting and vendor support when needed.
Document nonconformance findings, quarantine nonconforming product, and support containment activities.
Collaborate with engineering, planning, and material science teams to execute inspections and required tests.
Follow quality management system (QMS) requirements, work instructions, and ERP/MES processes (SAP and Solumina).
Support metallurgical lab activities and secondary testing as needed.
Participate in occasional off-hours virtual meetings to support global collaboration.
AA/AS degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
4+ years of production environment experience.
4+ years of experience following detailed inspection plans and instructions.
Advanced metrology experience with 3D Scanners, CMM, and related software.
Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
Skilled with precision inspection tools (calipers, gauges, etc.).
Experience with calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of measurement equipment.
Proficiency in MS Office and database systems.
Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams.
Ability to pass required eye exam.
Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.
Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R).
Experience with CMM programming and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Background in nonconformance investigation and root cause analysis.
ERP/MES systems experience (SAP, Solumina).
Metallurgical lab testing and analysis exposure.
