Position Responsibilities:
• Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis supports responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements.
• Accounts for customer impact of solutions and provide temporary repair options when a permanent repair is not feasible.
• Reviews and approves structural analysis, supports airframe repairs, provides expertise to respond to customer inquiries, develops service bulletins, and investigates failures to maintain continued airworthiness/mission capability, service documents for compliance with applicable FAA Federal Aviation Regulations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in structural analysis.
• 7+ years of experience with structural analysis methods and repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods used in maintenance programs).
• Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and the ability to work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime.
• Experience with Boeing aircraft models.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval.
• Masters of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering.
• Ability to work with diverse teams.
• Experience with teaching, mentoring, and leading teams
Clearance not required but the candidates need to be able to obtain a clearance post start
