Summary:
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Software Engineer – DevOps Platform Support to help design, maintain, and enhance mission-critical platform services in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll own and operate ITSM-facing processes and infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate processes, improve service delivery, and support high-impact programs that shape the future of aerospace technology.

Location: Hybrid – at least 1x per week onsite in Ridley Park, PA | Hazelwood, MO | Plano, TX | Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7AM–4PM
Starting Pay Rate (PA): $59.87 per hour

What You’ll Do:
Manage the full platform service lifecycle, including service catalog maintenance and request fulfillment.
Lead incident and problem management, develop runbooks, and implement permanent corrective actions.
Oversee change enablement, assess and approve changes, and implement them via automated pipelines.
Plan and coordinate release strategies with secure rollback capabilities.
Maintain a dynamic CMDB, document dependencies, and perform impact analyses.
Design and operate monitoring/observability solutions, implement telemetry, and enable automated remediation.
Enforce platform security and compliance using policy-as-code and audit-ready controls.
Develop and maintain knowledge resources, troubleshooting guides, and version-aligned documentation.
Collaborate with product, security, and development teams to identify recurring issues and drive automation.
Participate in production support rotations, disaster recovery planning, and incident response.
Required Qualifications:
3–5 years in platform engineering, DevOps, or IT operations.
Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Management, ServiceNow).
Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM concepts (Incident, Change, Service Request, Knowledge Management).
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD tools.
Experience with monitoring/observability, incident response, and basic security governance.
Scripting/automation skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
Ability to interpret logs/telemetry and use monitoring tools for triage.
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
ITIL/ITSM certifications (ITIL Foundation or equivalent).
Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes).
Knowledge of regulated environments, DoD, or government security requirements.
Aerospace industry experience.
