POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling). Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation. Makes major repairs. Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment. Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required. Provides tooling support to other organizations. Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes. Determines fabrication and assembly processes for the design. Reverse engineers designs and fabrication processes for parts. Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool. Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies. Works under general direction. Duties may include (but are not limited to): Deliver training to internal users on the use, repair, and maintenance of complex below-the-hook equipment and the operation of test equipment (e.g., scales and weights). Use operational manuals and tooling drawings to ensure proper use of equipment and provide a safe working environment. Review internal customer below-the-hook equipment requirements, evaluate vendor product capabilities and specifications. Verify the structural integrity of purchased, fabricated, and repaired handling equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance. Provide guidance on proof load integrity testing to less experienced Proofload Technicians. Perform routine and complex scheduled Proofload (PL) procedures on handling equipment, using weights, scales, and rigging based on established procedures. Increase safety and reliability for the life of the asset, reduce downtime and cost, and ensure regulatory compliance. Make recommendations for Proof Load process and procedural improvements to internal organizations. Perform operational inspections prior to and after proof-load integrity tests by assessing existing handling equipment conditions. Review documentation of proof-load tests and results, inspections, and maintenance activities for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with schedule prior to input into the database based on established procedures. Work in various software systems (e.g., MES, CMES, Maximo/CRPMS, Cribmaster) to review and verify tests, work orders, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to stand, turn, lift, climb, and operate factory support equipment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
WORK HOURS FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
ADDITIONAL This work assignment has been designated as "safety-sensitive" by the Client. Contractors assigned to safety-sensitive jobs at the Client site must first complete regulatory pre-placement requirements prior to reporting to assignment. Additionally, contractors assigned to safety-sensitive work will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal mandates.
