Drive Innovation and Technical Excellence in Propulsion Systems
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a seasoned Propulsion Engineer with exceptional leadership and technical expertise to oversee supplier management, engineering integration, and program execution for high-profile aerospace projects. In this role, you will ensure that propulsion hardware and systems meet the highest performance, safety, and quality standards, while guiding cross-functional teams toward mission success.
What You’ll Do:
Provide engineering leadership and supplier oversight to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
Lead and integrate engineering disciplines such as propulsion, systems, mechanical/aerospace, avionics, electrical, test, and manufacturing.
Manage cost accounts, risks, and opportunities to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Deliver program management support across project leadership, program analysis, scheduling, and integration.
Oversee manufacturing and expeditor support to ensure timely delivery of quality hardware.
Support quality engineering processes, including non-destructive testing, inspections, and evaluations.
Travel extensively (>75%) to supplier and customer sites, with a primary presence in Buffalo, NY.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry and:
20+ years’ experience (Bachelor’s)
18+ years’ experience (Master’s)
15+ years’ experience (PhD)
Proven ability to work independently and present confidently to technical teams and clients.
Demonstrated success in leading technical teams and managing supplier relationships.
Executive-level communication skills with experience in high-stakes decision-making.
Strong background in risk management and cost account management.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
Previous experience in space and/or launch vehicle systems.
