PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Senior Reliability Engineer to support a leading global client in Thousand Oaks, CA. In this critical onsite role, you’ll be responsible for maximizing the reliability, performance, and lifecycle of facilities, infrastructure, and equipment. Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence across a dynamic, high-tech environment.
We’re looking for a proven leader in reliability engineering who thrives in data-driven environments and brings a strategic approach to asset management, maintenance optimization, and root cause analysis.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Strategic Asset Management & Reliability
Implement and manage strategic asset management plans integrating maintenance systems, fault diagnostics, and capital planning tools.
Develop and optimize preventative maintenance tasks using reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) approaches.
Conduct equipment condition assessments and recommend repair vs. replacement strategies.
Perform root cause failure analyses (RCFA) to prevent future equipment failures and optimize uptime.
Reliability Program Development
Create and conduct risk assessments and reliability studies on building systems and equipment.
Rank equipment criticality and apply cost-benefit strategies to preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
Implement condition-based monitoring (vibration, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis) for critical systems.
Continuously improve maintenance programs and outcomes-based performance measures.
System Integration & Data Analytics
Integrate data from BAS, CMMS, and NOC systems for decision-making and life-cycle planning.
Maintain and analyze asset records, failure history, KPIs, and performance metrics.
Drive continuous improvement to address chronic reliability issues and reduce downtime.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Collaborate with engineering teams, maintenance personnel, and third-party vendors to implement reliability initiatives.
Support commissioning and upgrades, including PM planning, documentation, and spare parts strategy.
Lead efforts to improve compliance, safety, and long-term asset performance.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
10+ years of experience in reliability engineering, including RCM, CbM/PdM, and maintenance optimization.
Expertise with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems.
Proficient in CMMS/EAM systems and reliability metrics.
Background in critical environments such as labs, manufacturing, or data centers.
Preferred:
Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) or Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP).
Level 2 certifications in vibration analysis, ultrasound, or thermography.
Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 55001, or similar frameworks.
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manage large datasets.
