FAA Assembly & Test Technician

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a mechanically inclined and technically skilled FAA Assembly & Test Technician to support aerospace production operations at our Rocky Mount, NC facility. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure the reliability of electromechanical and electro-hydraulic control systems used in aircraft and helicopter engines.
Your Role and Impact
As a FAA Assembly & Test Technician, you’ll perform standard testing processes, inspections, and calibrations on aerospace components. You’ll work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to maintain high standards and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Use precision tools and measuring equipment to perform assembly, in-process inspections, calibration, and testing of hydro-mechanical fuel controls.
Follow electronic work instructions, engineering procedures, blueprints, and quality specifications.
Conduct visual inspections and report faulty operations or defective materials.
Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with quality standards.
Participate in daily Tier meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Perform lifting tasks exceeding 30 lbs. and operate machinery in a high-risk environment.
Train on 1st shift
What We’re Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
Mechanical and technical experience in a manufacturing or testing environment.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret blueprints/drawings.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
Basic computer skills and intermediate math proficiency.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in a technical field.
2–3 years of experience in aerospace assembly or testing.
North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold).
Six Sigma training or certification.
Experience with 5S principles and continuous improvement activities.

Pay Rate: $22.00/hr
Shift: Weekend Shift - Saturday and Sunday
Bonus Opportunity: Up to $3,000 through our Subcon Bonus Program
$1,000 at 14 days with perfect attendance
$1,000 at 60 days
$1,000 at 90 days (must have received 14-day bonus to qualify)
