Position: Liaison Engineer (Mid-Level)

Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Consultant
Staring Pay : $52.33 per hour
Schedule: Variable – Must be available to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends
Work Setting: 100% Onsite
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking skilled Mid-Level Liaison Engineers to support a premier aerospace site in Portland, Oregon. In this hands-on role, you won’t just support production—you’ll lead it forward, applying engineering expertise right on the floor to solve real-time problems and ensure aircraft components meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

Investigate and resolve production non-conformances through root cause analysis and corrective action.
Apply engineering principles and Boeing design standards to identify product/process improvements.
Collaborate directly with production teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout manufacturing.
Support Integrated Product Teams and participate in design reviews.
Coordinate with suppliers to verify compliance and quality standards.
Design interim structural repairs and analyze structural modifications for safety and effectiveness.
Participate in accident investigations and product repair teams.
Develop non-destructive test methods and tooling procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited program).
5+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.
2+ years of Engineering Material Review Board (MRB) experience.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Ability to work all three shifts and weekends in a factory environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with strong knowledge in the following areas will stand out:
Materials & Processing: Experience with steel, aluminum, titanium; machining effects; post-processing methods.
Machining & GD&T: Knowledge of complex geometry, tolerance analysis, and metrology tools (e.g., Spatial Analyzer).
Gears & Shafts: Understanding of gear profiles, engagement mechanics, and fitment tolerances.
Repair Methods: Proficiency in part rework, insert installation, corrosion protection, and surface restoration.
Functional Testing: Familiarity with aircraft-level testing (RPM, torque, clearance diagnostics).
Plating & Finishing: Hands-on experience with heat treat, anodizing, passivation, and painting processes.
