Pay range: $85 to $100 per hour
Schedule: Variable | Must be available to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking experienced Liaison Engineers to support high-impact production operations at a major aerospace site in Portland, Oregon. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where you’ll bring engineering designs to life on the factory floor, solve complex problems in real time, and directly contribute to the success of critical aircraft programs.

Be the engineering voice on the production floor—translating design into reality.
Investigate and resolve production non-conformances with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Apply engineering principles to resolve technical, operational, and quality issues across the product lifecycle.
Collaborate with production teams and cross-functional partners to maintain design intent and quality.
Support and influence design reviews and IPT initiatives.
Lead repairs, modifications, and strength analyses of damaged components.
Ensure compliance with Aerospace engineering standards and customer expectations.
Participate in field support, on-site repair teams, and accident investigations.
Design interim structural repairs and develop non-destructive testing procedures and tools.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (ABET or ABET-equivalent accredited).
14+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering.
7+ years of Engineering Material Review Board (MRB) experience.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Ability to work all three shifts and weekends as needed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience:
We’re especially interested in candidates with deep hands-on experience in:
Materials & Machining: Knowledge of metals (steel, titanium, aluminum), machining practices, and material forms (bar stock, forgings, castings).
GD&T & Metrology: Interpretation of complex tolerancing, spatial analysis tools, and quality assessment.
Gear Systems: Understanding of gear/shaft fitment, gear patterns, and mechanical tolerances.
Repair Techniques: Bushings, helicoils, insert installs, blending, corrosion protection, rework and refinishing.
Material Processing: Plating, anodizing, heat treatment, stress relief, and finishing.
Functional Testing: Identifying and resolving issues impacting airplane-level performance (RPM, torque, clearance).
