PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a talented Assembler (Upholsterer) to join a dynamic aerospace manufacturing team in Medley, FL. If you have a sharp eye for detail, love hands-on work, and bring upholstery experience from industries like automotive, furniture, or marine—this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on aircraft interiors.

What You’ll Do

As an Upholsterer, you’ll be part of a team responsible for creating high-quality, customized aircraft interior components. This is precision work that blends craftsmanship, technical ability, and pride in product excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove, install, rework, and adjust leather or fabric covers on aircraft seat components

• Interpret cover patterns and execute high-precision sewing and top-stitching (single and double) on fabric and leather

• Cut leather and fabric using patterns

• Operate industrial sewing machines, grommet machines, heat seal machines, staple guns, and hand tools

• Create and cut upholstery patterns and prepare materials for sewing

• Inspect components for defects or imperfections and ensure product meets quality standards

• Read and follow technical documents, production instructions, and diagrams

• Assemble components using tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, and more

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
  – In lieu of a diploma/GED, at least 4 years of relevant upholstery experience is required.
  – Key aspects include: experience with various upholstery techniques, ability to interpret patterns, and proficiency with tools like sewing machines and staple guns.

• Minimum of 1 year of related upholstery or manufacturing experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

What You Bring

• Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset

• Ability to follow production/assembly instructions and technical diagrams

• Comfortable using industrial and hand tools with precision

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

• Familiarity with sewing, cutting, inspecting, and prepping upholstery materials

• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team-based production environment
