What You’ll Be Doing
As a Technical Designer, you’ll play a key role in the electrical and mechanical design of aircraft wiring systems. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to create and maintain critical documentation, support system functionality, and ensure accuracy across installation and part designs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing, maintaining, and releasing electrical/mechanical drawings and engineering data.
Preparing system design documentation using industry-standard tools and incorporating design changes.
Creating and modifying design layouts, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring design integrity.
Supporting design validation activities for electrical system functionality.
Producing installation and part designs (simple to moderately complex).
Coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to meet program needs.
Working under general direction with room for problem-solving and independent decision-making.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
1+ year of experience working with aircraft wiring installation in an electrical capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in EE Technical Design for wiring installation.
Experience working with electrical architectures on a defense-related program.
Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or
High school diploma/technical degree + 5+ years of hands-on experience.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
