Lead Principal Engineer – FAA DER (Structures)

Overview:
We are seeking a FAA-Certified Structures DER to lead engineering approvals for aircraft repairs, P2F conversions, and modification programs. This leadership role requires direct FAA coordination, 8110 approvals, and extensive experience reviewing and signing off on structural compliance data.
Target Profile:
• Current FAA DER – Structures with active delegation
• Experience leading major repair and certification projects
• Strong familiarity with P2F conversions and STC programs
Key Responsibilities:
• Approve structural repair and modification engineering data (drawings, substantiations)
• Serve as FAA DER authority for internal and external STC and compliance programs
• Oversee structural certification efforts on Boeing and Airbus fleets
• Interface with FAA and lead engineering audit responses
• Mentor internal engineers and ensure compliance packages meet regulatory standards
Preferred Experience:
• 10+ years in aircraft structural certification
• Experience with 14 CFR Part 25, 26, and 145 environments
• Hands-on experience with repair approvals, damage tolerance analysis, and 8110s
• Boeing 767 or Airbus A330 P2F or mod experience a strong plus
