Starting Pay: $39.85/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinists to support cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing at our client’s Beltsville facility. You’ll be part of a team that builds the components powering space exploration, defense systems, and next-generation aircraft.

What You’ll Do

• Set Up & Operate Machines: Work with CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and manual machines to produce high-precision metal parts.
• Interpret Technical Drawings: Read blueprints, sketches, and engineering specs to determine machining operations.
• Precision Machining: Use hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure parts meet exacting tolerances.
• Layout & Assembly: Mark dimensions, lay out stock, and fit precision parts into mechanical assemblies.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor output and verify quality using statistical process controls and inspection tools.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work with engineers and technicians to improve processes and solve machining challenges.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience writing and editing CNC programs
• Familiarity with wire EDM
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
