PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) to support a cutting-edge commercial aircraft program. Based in Everett, WA, this role is instrumental in designing and certifying aircraft systems that perform flawlessly throughout their lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance design integrity, operational reliability, and maintainability—ensuring top-tier safety and compliance standards are met.
Apply statistical modeling, simulations, and data analytics to support design and certification.
Serve as a technical expert during all stages of the product lifecycle.
Develop and validate technical performance measures (TPMs) such as maintenance costs, availability, and schedule reliability.
Execute fault tree analyses (FTA), reliability and durability testing, and failure mode evaluations.
Support airplane and system design validation for both reliability and maintainability, leveraging tools like virtual and augmented reality.
Engage with suppliers, engineering teams, customers, and certification authorities to ensure alignment on safety, performance, and compliance goals.
Drive TPM guarantee assessments and maintain active involvement in program-level R&M reviews and communications.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (ABET or similar accreditation).
14+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in commercial aviation R&M.
Demonstrated expertise in aircraft systems such as propulsion, hydraulics, avionics, or electrical power.
Hands-on experience with FTA in commercial aircraft certification.
Proficiency with CAFTA, ReliaSoft, or FaultTree+.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred:
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) with relevant years of experience.
Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
Project planning and technical leadership capabilities.
