PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Systems Architect Engineer to support mission-critical programs in the aerospace industry. This role offers the opportunity to influence complex systems from conception through execution—ensuring they meet performance, safety, and operational excellence standards. Your technical insight will shape engineering estimates, cost evaluations, and process improvements that drive aerospace solutions forward.
Apply systems thinking to evaluate customer needs and define performance requirements.
Develop, verify, and integrate lifecycle-balanced systems and architectures.
Collaborate with Software Engineering SMEs to build cost estimates for contract proposals.
Define and refine scope and statements of work based on evolving contract needs.
Facilitate technical and cost discussions with senior leadership, contracts, and pricing teams.
Support documentation and change management processes to track proposal initiatives.
Analyze the impacts of engineering changes on system cost, schedule, and technical baselines.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience, Master’s with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
Degree must be in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
Strong systems engineering background with the ability to see the full picture and interdependencies.
Experience creating and justifying engineering estimates with clear rationale and budget allocation.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail; able to challenge assumptions and validate logic.
Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional meetings and proactively coordinate deliverables.
Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills for estimate modeling and data analysis.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred:
Experience in aerospace or high-reliability engineering environments.
Familiarity with proposal development and government contracting processes.
