Chipton-Ross is seeking a Buyer for a contract opportunity in Peachtree City, GA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): 1–3 years of experience in purchasing Basic skills in procurement, negotiation, and supplier communication Ability to follow defined procedures and work under close supervision Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and MRP systems Strong written and verbal communication skills
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate procurement activities for goods and services including raw materials, tools, parts, and supplies Schedule and track material deliveries based on production schedules and program requirements Communicate with suppliers to obtain product/service information such as pricing, availability, and delivery timelines Prepare purchase orders and bid requests Negotiate and administer agreements within scope of authority Analyze price proposals and financial data to determine reasonable pricing Maintain procurement records and support department metrics Enter and manage purchase orders in the MRP system Follow up on unconfirmed, past due, and upcoming order requirements Resolve supplier performance issues and escalate as needed Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and Production to ensure changes are communicated to suppliers Evaluate defective or unacceptable goods and initiate corrective actions Update suppliers with engineering changes and drawings Approve invoices for payment within scope of authority
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in supply chain, procurement, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems
REQUIRED EDUCATION: College degree preferred (preferably in Supply Chain Management or related field) or equivalent experience
WORK HOURS: 5/40 work schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST
