PDS Tech Commercial, a Military Friendly® Employer, is seeking a highly experienced and adaptable Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer to support complex material handling projects across the U.S. This is a dynamic, travel-intensive role ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving real-world challenges on-site.
About the Role
As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer, you will support engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, selecting equipment, defining BOMs, and configuring product models. You’ll also play a key role in on-site commissioning, ensuring proper equipment distribution and process flow. This role requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple project elements simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical engineering drawings and layouts using CAD tools (2D/3D).
- Select equipment and define configurations for material handling systems.
- Support on-site commissioning, ensuring proper equipment distribution and flow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, etc.) to develop integrated solutions.
- Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Travel to client sites across the U.S. approximately 70% of the time.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of industrial experience in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software (2D/3D) and layout development.
- Strong understanding of material handling systems and equipment.
- Ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule across multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Must be able to travel extensively.
- Experience with Fieldglass timekeeping and expense reporting.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to field conditions.

- Schedule: 1st shift - 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Travel: 70% nationwide travel to client sites

Pay Details: $38.09 to $40.75 per hour
