Assembly & Test Technician

PDS Tech Commercial, a Military Friendly® Employer, is seeking highly qualified candidates for an Assembly & Test Technician position in Rocky Mount, NC. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role supporting aerospace production with a focus on quality, safety, and technical excellence.
About the Role
As an Assembly & Test Technician, you will perform standard assembly and testing processes on hydro-mechanical fuel controls and related aerospace components. You’ll work with precision tools and electronic instructions in a fast-paced, regulated environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and test aerospace components using precision tools and fixtures.
- Perform in-process inspections, calibrations, and functional tests.
- Follow electronic work instructions, blueprints, and quality procedures.
- Visually inspect parts and report any defects or non-conformities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Operate hand tools and powered industrial equipment safely.
- Participate in daily tier meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Work overtime and weekends as required.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- 2–3 years of experience in assembly, testing, or manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical and/or technical background (automotive, electrical, plumbing, machining, aviation, or construction).
- Computer proficiency and ability to follow digital instructions.
- Ability to lift over 30 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Must be local to Rocky Mount, NC and available for onsite interviews.
- Must pass a vision test within the first week of assignment.
- Must be able to train on 1st shift for a minimum of one month.
- North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold).
- Six Sigma training or certification.
- Associates degree in a technical field.
- Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with 5S and continuous improvement practices.
- Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
- 3rd Shift Schedule: Five 8-hour days plus some weekends (training on 1st shift for one month)
- A clean, safety-first environment with modern tools and equipment
- Subco Bonus Program:
- $1,000 at 14 days with perfect attendance
- $1,000 at 60 days
- $1,000 at 90 days

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay Details: $22.00 per hour
