Location: Erie, PA - work is ONSITE so candidates need to be local
Work Shift: MON-FRI, 8 to 5 PM
Contract Length: 12 months to start, likely to extend
Pay: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Role Summary:
The Electrical Engineer position provides an opportunity to work on innovative rotating electric machines for Transportation application. In this role, you will be responsible for design, testing, application studies, field support, manufacturing support, and innovation on a variety of machine topologies. You will support various business critical initiatives that include hybrid and battery electric vehicles.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Engineer will provide design solutions and work with cross functional teams to meet assigned objectives and new product development. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
In addition, you will:
• Execute, with guidance from Senior Engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements
• Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
• Participate and work with global teams on projects assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
• Validate new components and subassemblies, author & release of drawings and specifications
• Generate engineering documents (DFMEA, Design Review materials, Purchase Specs, meeting notes, technical visuals and presentations, etc.)
• Strong oral and written communication skills, able to work well in teams
• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• Minimum of 3 year of experience in related field
• To be available for work in Erie, PA region throughout the contract
• Basic Knowledge of Electric machines design principles and associated engineering performance evaluations
• Strong desire and motivation to be learn Electrical Design/application of electric rotating machines
• Basic understanding of functional testing of various electric machines.
Desired Characteristics:
• Strong technical aptitude
• Experience with Rotating Equipment
• Prior work in transportation or power industries.
• Basic understanding of electromagnetics.
• Basic understanding of Thermal Analysis of an electric machine
