PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Safety & Airworthiness Specialist to support safety investigations and regulatory compliance in the aerospace industry. In this critical role, you’ll lead root cause investigations to resolve and prevent airworthiness and compliance issues, directly contributing to the safety and reliability of commercial aircraft.
Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to FAA compliance issues, voluntary disclosures, audit findings, and airworthiness non-compliances.
Facilitate structured investigations using methodologies such as theProblem Solving Model (BPSM), 5-Whys, and Fishbone analysis.
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) to develop systemic solutions that prevent recurrence.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, the Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA), and regulatory authorities to ensure investigation outcomes meet standards.
Draft detailed investigation reports and facilitate corrective action planning and implementation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance and safety processes across the organization.
Communicate technical findings effectively to diverse internal and external audiences.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of relevant aerospace or regulatory compliance experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives.
Problem-solving mindset with a commitment to driving systemic change.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of related work experience.
Hands-on experience with RCCA tools (BPSM, 5-Whys, Fishbone).
Working knowledge of FAA regulations and ODA procedures (8100.15).
Familiarity with commercial aircraft systems, certification, and safety protocols.
Experience engaging with the FAA or equivalent regulatory bodies.
Pilot’s license or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is a plus.
