Fabrication Specialist

As a Fabrication Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in the creation of aerospace components using advanced composite materials. From carbon fiber layups to thermal protection systems, your work will directly support the development of next-generation spacecraft and aerospace technologies.
This is a 6-month, full-time consultant position with competitive pay and the opportunity to work at one of the most historic and innovative aerospace sites in the world.
Perform composite fabrication using carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other aerospace-grade materials.
Operate automated lay-up machines and perform hand lay-up tasks.
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and planning documents to fabricate parts and subassemblies.
Work with Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) and apply adhesives, coatings, and corrosion protection.
Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices for various tests.
Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control.
Coordinate with team members across shifts to ensure seamless operations.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Mechanical skills, including experience with torque wrenches.
Electrical skills, including experience with adhesives and wire handling.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
Willingness to work all shifts (training on 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
This position requires a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with drilling, painting, or autobody work.
Background in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
