Summary:
Perform a variety of complex structural assembly operations.
This includes the use of prints, specifications, and tools to ensure assemblies meet quality standards and customer expectations.
May also assist and guide other team members.
Perform safe and accurate assembly of structural parts, sheet metal layouts, fabrication, and installations.
Execute drilling, riveting, and fitting operations to meet design requirements.
Use required tools including riveting guns, pneumatic drills, reamers, countersinks, and rivet shavers.
Remove and replace fasteners without damaging structures.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, sketches, lofts, and operation sheets.
Follow procedures for working with adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
Align and assemble components using jigs, fixtures, clamps, pins, and fasteners.
Shape and form complex angles using proper tooling based on blueprints or verbal instructions.
Perform repairs per DMTs, MRRs, and PCOs; ensure rework meets specifications.
Verify work is defect-free prior to final inspection.
Instruct and support team members with interpreting drawings and solving installation challenges.
Maintain logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs, Crabs).
Participate in continuous improvement and 5S/Lean initiatives.
Properly use and maintain company tools and PPE.
Ensure accurate job charging and effective shift handoffs.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 4 years of related structural assembly experience
Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred
Q-stamp certification preferred
Basic computer literacy and shop math skills
Ability to read scales and comprehend technical documents
Skilled in close tolerance work and use of specialized tools
Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders or stands, and lift up to 50 lbs
Experience working with composite resins and materials
Professional attitude, attention to detail, and ability to meet demanding schedules
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
