At PDS Tech Commercial, we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to drive innovation and precision in the aviation industry. This is your opportunity to take your engineering expertise to new altitudes, working at the heart of aircraft cabin and cargo design in our cutting-edge Engineering Center in Mobile, AL.
Your work will directly impact the development, qualification, and integration of standard parts used in commercial aircraft—making flight more efficient, safe, and sustainable around the globe.
Your Mission:
As a Mechanical Engineer at PDS Tech Commercial, you will:
Lead qualification processes for Standard Parts, including new development, test planning, environmental analysis, and supplier coordination.
Support the full lifecycle of cabin and cargo systems, from prototype through final delivery.
Analyze and allocate top-level aircraft requirements to system-level solutions.
Drive lightweight design strategies that improve aircraft efficiency.
Validate designs through data checks, technical documentation, and engineering reports.
Offer critical engineering support to the Final Assembly Line (FAL) to ensure smooth delivery operations.
Spearhead digitalization initiatives to modernize and streamline engineering processes.
What You Bring Aboard:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering.
Minimum 6 years of engineering experience, preferably in aviation or aerospace.
Proficient in CATIA and reading technical documents, drawings, and compliance reports.
Strong understanding of Product Data Management systems and configuration control.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Capable of interpreting complex technical aircraft data.
Preferred Traits:
Proven leadership in supplier management and part qualification.
Experience in managing projects that involve test design and review.
High adaptability to a fast-paced, global team environment.
Your Work Environment:
Based onsite 100% at our Mobile, AL Engineering Center.
Travel required up to 20% domestically and internationally.
Must be able to meet standard physical and safety requirements, including PPE compliance.
