Pay Range: $43.80 – $55.79 per hour

Do you have a passion for precision and innovation? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a CAD/CAM Engineer (Level 3) to support a Launch Vehicles Avionics Design Group. In this role, you’ll help bring complex aerospace systems to life through high-performance printed wiring board (PWB) designs that power the future of flight and defense.
As a key member of the Avionics Design Group (ADG), you’ll collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver mission-critical hardware. Your daily work will include:
Designing and laying out printed wiring boards (PWBs) for avionics and test applications.
Collaborating closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure design integrity, fit, and function.
Participating in peer reviews and milestone design check-ins throughout the development process.
Preparing artwork (ODB++, Gerbers) for PWB fabrication.
Communicating project progress with program engineers and leadership.
Minimum 5 years of recent PWB design layout experience using Cadence Allegro.
AA/AS degree or equivalent 2-year post-high school technical training.
Proficient in multilayer board layout (6–16 layers), including high-speed digital, analog, and power circuits.
Experience with controlled-impedance designs (e.g., SERDES, DDR3/DDR4).
Familiarity with rigid-flex assemblies.
Skilled in footprint/symbol creation and library management.
Understanding of IPC-2221 and IPC-7351 standards.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Familiarity with the Printed Wiring Assembly (PWA) manufacturing process.
Experience with CAM350 or Valor DFM tools.
Exposure to additional design tools like OrCAD Layout, Mentor PADS, or Xpedition.
