Assembly & Test Technician

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled and mechanically inclined Assembly & Test Technician to support aerospace manufacturing operations at a leading facility in Rocky Mount, NC. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong technical or mechanical background—especially those with experience in automotive, aviation, machining, construction, or similar hands-on fields.
You’ll be part of a team that assembles and tests hydro-mechanical fuel controls for aircraft and helicopter engines used in both commercial and military applications.
What You’ll Do
- Perform assembly, calibration, and testing of aerospace components using precision tools and fixtures.
- Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and quality procedures.
- Conduct in-process inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
- Identify and report faulty operations or materials.
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.
- Work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in daily Tier meetings and problem-solving activities.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed (pre-approval required).
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3–6 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or testing
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Experience using hand tools and precision measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, internet navigation)
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Steel-toe boots required
- Vision testing required within first week
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Automotive, electrical, plumbing, construction, machining, or aviation
- Associates degree or technical certification
- North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold)
- Six Sigma training or certification
- Experience in a fast-paced aerospace or manufacturing environment

Pay Details: $22.00 per hour
