PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Engineer – Communication Systems to support a cutting-edge aerospace program. In this critical role, you will work on advanced digital communication and signal processing systems, turning innovative concepts into real-world solutions that drive aerospace technology forward.

About the Role

As a Communication Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the development of software-defined radios and automated test systems. You’ll join a fast-paced engineering environment where collaboration, curiosity, and creativity are central to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop digital systems for software-defined radios and automated test equipment.

• Test proposed designs using evaluation boards.

• Develop and implement FPGA-based digital hardware architectures and algorithms.

• Collaborate with systems engineers to align firmware designs with overall system requirements.

• Review and analyze technical designs and documentation.

• Lead and mentor teams in delivering high-quality technical solutions.

• Drive complex technical issues to resolution and guide product delivery from concept to deployment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline, with 12+ years of experience (10+ with Master’s, 8+ with PhD).

• Strong background in digital communication system design, including modulation, coding, synchronization, and multi-access communications.

• Experience in link budget development, modeling, and testing.

• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for system and algorithm modeling.

• Hands-on experience in Digital Communications within the past 3 years.

• Proven track record of leading engineering teams through product implementation.

• This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience optimizing MATLAB/Simulink-generated HDL for FPGA or ASIC implementation.

• Familiarity with military waveforms and waveform algorithm design.

• Experience with open-air or flight testing of communication systems.

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI.

• Experience in waveform ASIC development.
