Aircraft Painter
Location: Wichita, KS
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (4-Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $46.39/hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Painter to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Wichita, KS. In this role, you’ll apply advanced coatings to aircraft components, ensuring each product meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. Your craftsmanship will directly contribute to the look and longevity of cutting-edge aerospace systems.
Apply primers, Alodine, and finish coatings to aerospace components using spray or brush techniques.
Mix paints to match exact color specifications using manual or power mixing tools.
Prepare surfaces by removing grease, dirt, rust, or old paint using abrasives, solvents, or washing tanks.
Mask, rack, sand, and inspect parts before and after painting.
Use engineering blueprints, schematics, and planning documents to guide work.
Perform rework, touch-ups, and incorporate engineering changes as needed.
Maintain and clean paint equipment such as sprayers and guns.
Conduct self-inspections using precision measuring tools.
Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA, BAC, customer specifications).
Wear and maintain required PPE including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, and safety eyewear.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in aerospace painting or industrial coating applications.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong color perception and attention to detail.
Physical ability to lift, reach, climb, and work in confined spaces.
Familiarity with hazardous material handling and disposal.
Ability to perform fine motor tasks and operate hand/power tools.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience applying DYNOL and MA25 coatings.
Prior work in a regulated aerospace environment.
Certifications in paint application or hazardous materials handling.
