JOB TITLE: RS Senior Aircraft Upholstery Technician - 2nd Shift

Summary:
Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains, and various interior assemblies and subassemblies
Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements
Sew, fabricate, and install covers for all styles of interior panels while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards
Utilize the material tracking system (Corridor) to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off work
Cut and install advanced custom carpets with complex patterns based on design specifications
Serve as acting Lead when needed; oversee projects and delegate tasks as directed
Conduct safety audits and assist others in performing them
Assist with maintenance of shop equipment and associated Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
Champion safety, 5S, and housekeeping standards; ensure proper protection of aircraft interiors (PTP)
Mentor and train less experienced technicians; monitor work to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards
Collaborate with Leads and senior technicians to implement process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and labor using Lean Six Sigma tools
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
4 years of upholstery experience, including 2 years in aircraft upholstery or 6 years of commercial upholstery experience
Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing techniques and/or advanced carpet installation, including custom patterns
Working knowledge of inspection and process specifications and terminology
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Computer literacy required
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
