Lead Global Trade Compliance from Anywhere: Now Hiring a Remote Global Trade Principal Specialist

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Global Trade Principal Specialist for a full-time, 12-month consulting opportunity. This fully remote role offers the chance to lead critical import compliance operations and contribute to the success of a global aerospace supply chain—all from the comfort of your home.

About the Role

As a Global Trade Principal Specialist, you will be the go-to expert for managing daily import operations, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and supporting strategic trade initiatives. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of international trade activities across multiple aerospace sites.

What You’ll Do

• Lead daily tactical import entry processes and manage U.S. Customs inquiries and data requests.
• Audit import declarations and track refunds to optimize duty recovery.
• Collect and analyze import data for monthly dashboard metrics.
• Support import-related projects and strategic initiatives.
• Stay informed on global trade developments, including tariffs and trade regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across the organization.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency with tools such as SAP/GTS, SharePoint, Office 365, Smartsheet, and Access.
• Experience in import compliance, auditing, and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Licensed Customs Broker (strongly preferred).
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with aerospace trade compliance systems and processes.
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and communicate clearly.
• Experience with systems such as GTS, OCR, MKDenial, xClass, and TEXPORT.
