PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to support advanced aerospace and defense simulation systems. This is your opportunity to contribute to mission-critical applications that support warfighter training, missile defense, and space-based surveillance systems. Your work will directly influence national security and defense readiness.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of the Warfighter Simulations and Services (WSS) Agile Release Train, you will:

• Design, develop, test, and integrate software features using C++ and/or Java in a Linux environment.
• Support the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) project by modeling Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and interface with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, mission-critical software.
• Present technical briefings and contribute to agile development cycles using Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.
• Travel up to 10% to support business needs.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Java or C++ within a Linux environment.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
• Background in missile defense, infrared surveillance, or modeling and simulation.
• Experience in software analysis, design, testing, and integration.
