We are seeking a Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our dynamic Manufacturing team at PDS Tech Commercial in Mobile, AL. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the integrity of the aviation components that keep the skies safe. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the quality, safety, and performance of the next generation of aerospace technology.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Quality Inspector, your work will be both hands-on and impactful. You will:
Perform Quality Inspections as per defined standards, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulations throughout the product lifecycle.
Conduct final checks and attestations for work orders, ensuring critical activities are handled with the highest precision.
Identify and red flag deviations in products, tools, equipment, and facilities, addressing issues promptly to prevent delays and ensure operational efficiency.
Collaborate in root cause analysis for quality and technical issues, working closely with multifunctional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Lead Operational Surveillance by monitoring people, products, and processes, providing feedback and coaching to the team on quality-related observations.
Optimize inspection activities and manage non-conformities, ensuring continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
Act as the go-to person on the shop floor for all quality-related matters, preventing foreign object damage (FOD), and managing inspections to meet aerospace standards.
Required Qualifications
2 years of experience in aviation, with a focus on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
Proficiency in Quality Management Systems and drawing systems.
Strong experience with inspection tools for measuring length (mechanical, electrical).
High school diploma or GED (a higher qualification is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or an inspection authorization (preferred).
Previous experience in a Quality Inspector role within an aviation setting.
Familiarity with inspection plans and coordination processes.
