About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Senior Mechanical Estimator to lead cost estimating efforts for a wide range of industrial construction and prefabrication projects. In this high-impact role, you’ll produce accurate, multidiscipline estimates, identify project risks, and support pricing strategies that win business and drive operational success. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of professionals while helping shape and refine best-in-class estimating practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical estimates from concept through completion for complex field and fabrication scopes

• Collaborate with procurement, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to gather cost data and resolve estimate details

• Manage centralized cost estimating databases and implement historical data for pricing consistency

• Analyze completed projects and cost trends to identify gaps and optimize future estimating approaches

• Lead strategy sessions and schedule management for estimation deliverables

• Review and validate scopes of work, subcontractor quotes, labor units, and project schedules

• Present finalized estimates to internal leadership and external clients

• Oversee estimate handoff to project execution teams, ensuring a seamless transition

• Support continuous improvement efforts and lead QA/QC reviews for accuracy

• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to cross-functional team development

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical estimating experience in industrial construction (residential/commercial experience will not be considered)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Expert-level Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, data models, and advanced formulas

• Hands-on experience with:

• InEight

• Accubid Anywhere

• Bluebeam Revu Extreme

• Navisworks Freedom

• SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, OneNote
