Pay: $36–$42/hr | 1st Shift | Monday–Friday

Position Summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Staff Electrical Estimator to support large-scale industrial construction projects. This role plays a key part in the preconstruction process—responsible for developing accurate electrical estimates that shape project planning, execution, and client success. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams to deliver proposals, cost models, and bids from start to finish, with the opportunity to work on a variety of complex and rewarding projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates, proposals, lump sum bids, and unit costs for field and pre-fabrication construction projects.

• Work closely with procurement, subcontractors, and vendors to evaluate costs and resolve scope discrepancies.

• Analyze project documentation to assess scope, identify risks, and ensure compliance with estimating standards.

• Utilize historical data to improve estimating processes and support cost-efficiency initiatives.

• Conduct pre-bid meetings, assemble material and labor costs, and evaluate subcontractor quotes.

• Support project schedule development and provide insight into general conditions, contingencies, and escalation costs.

• Collaborate with legal and project leads to evaluate commercial terms and risk factors.

Required Qualifications

• Industrial electrical estimating experience is mandatory (residential or commercial backgrounds will not be considered).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

• At least 3 years of direct project estimating experience in the electrical discipline.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formula creation.

• Recent or current use of:

  • InEight

  • Accubid Anywhere

  • Bluebeam Revu Extreme

  • Navisworks Freedom

  • SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, and OneNote

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

• Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple estimates, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with Quotesoft, Oracle, and additional cost control systems is a plus.

• Experience in supporting disadvantaged business subcontracting efforts.
