PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented Design and Analysis Engineer for a full-time, 6-month consulting opportunity in Hazelwood, MO. This is your chance to work on mission-critical aerospace systems, transforming complex requirements into innovative solutions that power the next generation of flight and defense technologies.

 What You’ll Do

As a Design and Analysis Engineer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and refine advanced electronic and electrical systems. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and documenting complex system requirements in collaboration with customers.
• Translating requirements into system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications.
• Testing and validating systems to ensure they meet operational and functional standards.
• Monitoring supplier performance to ensure integration and compliance.
• Supporting fielded hardware/software throughout the product lifecycle.
• Researching emerging technologies for potential application in aerospace systems.
• Using tools like JIRA for project tracking and CAD software for schematic design.

 What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, data science, or computer science + 3 years of experience; or Master’s degree + 1 year of experience.
• Experience with system requirements analysis, schematic design, and hardware/software integration.
• Familiarity with communication standards such as RS422/RS232, PC104, TCP/IP, IEEE-488, MMSI, and MIL-STD-1553.
• Knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472).
• Proficiency in CAD and electrical schematic creation.
• Experience using JIRA for project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles or certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Experience with network design and systems engineering tools (DOORs, CAMEO).
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Background in air vehicle or weapons systems development and integration.
