Now Hiring: Data Center Chief Engineer – Critical Environments
Location: Broomfield, CO | Pay: $50.36/hr | Schedule: Full-Time, First Shift

PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a Data Center Chief Engineer to lead the operations of a state-of-the-art facility in Broomfield, Colorado. What You’ll Do:

As the Chief Engineer, you’ll be the backbone of our critical operations, overseeing a team of engineers, managing essential infrastructure, and ensuring round-the-clock performance for critical building systems. You’ll also work closely with the General Manager, contractors, and vendors to maintain safety, compliance, and optimal functionality.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Leading, training, and supervising operating engineers

• Managing budgets for expenses and capital projects

• Performing monthly inspections of building conditions and equipment

• Overseeing fire protection and emergency preparedness procedures

• Reviewing blueprints and construction plans; coordinating tenant improvements

• Ensuring compliance with energy management and sustainability best practices

• Conducting system tests and maintaining accurate operational logs

• Bidding and managing MEP service contracts and vendor relationships

• Ensuring inventory, supplies, and tools are available and properly maintained

• Administering safety, OSHA compliance, and emergency procedures

What You Bring:

Required Qualifications:

• EPA 608 Certification & NFPA70E Training

• Two-year technical degree in HVAC or related field

• 7–10 years of engineering experience, with at least 3–5 in a leadership role

• Deep understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automation & fire protection systems

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and respond to emergencies on-site

Preferred:

• Experience with engineering standards

• Ability to read/interpret drawings, codes, and specs

• Strong vendor and project management experience
