As a Final Inspector (Quality Technician), you’ll be the last line of defense in ensuring every part, assembly, and system is delivered to exacting standards. Your work will directly impact safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction in an industry where there is no margin for error.
This role demands not only precision but judgment, initiative, and technical expertise. You’ll work with minimal supervision to make crucial inspection decisions and resolve complex quality challenges. Your insights may influence product integrity across multiple teams—and ultimately, in the skies.
Perform detailed inspections on electrical and mechanical components to confirm compliance with engineering specs
Use tools such as optical comparators, CMMs, pin gauges, and hand tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality
Conduct final product inspections, including checks for workmanship, tolerances, wiring, soldering, and functionality
Ensure operators are following Manufacturing Process Standards (MPS) and that customer quality specifications are understood and upheld
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to optimize processes and reduce quality costs
Review, assess, and revise work instructions and documentation as needed
Initiate and manage non-conformance reports, problem investigations, and supplier returns
Support and mentor team members by demonstrating inspection techniques and providing functional guidance when necessary
4 to 6 years in a quality inspection or final inspection role within manufacturing, preferably aerospace or electronics
High school diploma or equivalent; continued technical education strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of SMT assembly, soldering standards, and product process flow
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and technical specifications
Hands-on experience with inspection tools and equipment, including calibration and maintenance
Familiarity with non-conformance management systems and documentation protocols
Certifications as required by site operations
Effective communication and team collaboration skills
Experience working under general supervision with the ability to take initiative and problem-solve independently
Background in leading inspection teams or training new employees
Experience with in-circuit and functional test fixturing
Knowledge of advanced manufacturing systems
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and document control systems
Regular exposure to manufacturing environments (noise, dust, chemicals, machinery)
Must be comfortable with repetitive hand movements, precision tools, and prolonged visual inspection
Periodic lifting of materials and standing or sitting for extended periods required
