Join PDS Tech Commercial as an Aircraft Mechanic and play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of mission-critical aircraft. In this hands-on role, you’ll support depot-level modifications, structural repairs, and inspections on advanced aircraft platforms—helping keep flight operations safe, efficient, and mission-ready.
You will be part of a high-performance team responsible for:
Performing close tolerance drilling, reaming, installation, and removal in critical structural areas
Sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving aircraft structure per standard repair processes
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, and retrofit specs
Using structural repair tooling and fixtures to support modification activities
Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components and inspecting non-complex electrical systems
Accessing aircraft data systems and initiating parts/discrepancy requests
Operating unique aircraft tools (torque wrenches, test equipment, micrometers, rivet guns, etc.)
Supporting safety and compliance through Lockout/Tagout and FOD procedures
Working collaboratively with General Mechanics, Avionics, and Electronics teams to meet project targets
This role requires working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and lifting up to 35 pounds regularly.
4+ years of hands-on experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, or stainless steel
4+ years of experience interpreting schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
Strong experience with structural tools (e.g., pancake drills, countersink cages, hole finders, rivet guns)
Experience with heavy aircraft structures, including drilling, countersinking, and fastening components (e.g., stringers, doublers, seat tracks)
Ability to work variable shifts and schedules including nights, weekends, and overtime
High school diploma or GED
Prior experience in aircraft heavy maintenance (JAWACS or Depot Level preferred)
Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, or electric-powered elevating equipment
This position requires:
Successful completion of a training assessment
Compliance with site tool control and FOD prevention procedures
Physical capabilities including frequent standing, climbing, reaching, balancing, and safe lifting
Use of personal protective equipment as required (eye protection, safety shoes, etc.)
