Location: Tucson, AZ | Payrate: $24-25/hr | Schedule: 1st Shift - Mon-Fri - 6:00AM - 2:30PM
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled FAA Electronics Engineering Technician to support high-performance repair and rework operations in our FAA-certified repair station. In this vital role, you'll be part of a team responsible for returning critical aircraft components to service. Your work will not only ensure regulatory compliance—it will directly support the safety and functionality of aircraft relied on around the world.
This is a hands-on technical role that requires sharp analytical skills, deep product knowledge, and the ability to solve complex challenges with autonomy. Your contributions will go beyond the bench—supporting team members, improving quality outcomes, and helping shape the repair standards that keep the aviation industry moving safely and efficiently.
Perform assembly, disassembly, analysis, rework, and final testing of electronic and mechanical aircraft components
Diagnose issues and recommend repair actions in compliance with FAA regulations and internal quality systems
Conduct manual soldering, automated testing, feeder repairs, and preventative maintenance
Operate and calibrate hand tools, soldering equipment, and automated assembly/testing machines
Perform first-line troubleshooting on non-conforming or failed units
Support line setups and provide guidance to technicians performing similar work
Ensure compliance with Manufacturing Process Standards (MPS) and FAA quality documentation
Communicate with internal teams to share data, resolve quality issues, and maintain workflow efficiency
Maintain and update relevant documentation, following strict repair station protocols
4–5 years of relevant experience in electronics repair, assembly, or testing
High school diploma or equivalent; additional post-secondary technical training preferred
In-depth knowledge of SMT processing, board-level repairs, and soldering techniques
Experience working in an FAA-regulated repair environment
Proficiency with in-circuit and functional test fixtures, and understanding of complex product flow
Ability to read schematics, interpret technical drawings, and follow precise documentation
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Certifications as required by site operations (IPC or FAA-related certifications)
Experience training or mentoring other technicians
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and documentation control systems
Experience operating in an AS9100 or FAA Part 145 environment
Work takes place in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery
Involves prolonged manual dexterity, visual concentration, and occasional heavy lifting
All activities performed under local health and safety protocols
