Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Stress Engineer with a strong background in the analysis, certification, and testing of composite and metallic primary structures.
Demonstrate technical depth, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts with clarity and confidence.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for stress analysis of composite primary structures (experience with metallic structures is highly desirable).
Perform detailed stress analysis using both classical hand calculation methods (Bruhn, Peery, Roark, ESDU) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
Prepare certification stress reports and collaborate with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs).
Support and interpret structural testing activities.
Clearly explain and defend analysis methodologies, assumptions, and results to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering required; Master s degree preferred.
FAA DER certification (14 CFR Part 23/25) is a strong plus but not required.
Proficient in FEA tools such as NASTRAN and FEMAP.
Familiar with 3D modeling in CATIA V5 ability to manipulate and extract data from models.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic (VB), or MATLAB is highly desirable.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Physical Requirements:
Exposure to operational environments with equipment noise, temperature fluctuations, dust, and aircraft-related odors.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, climb, and reach for extended periods as required by the role.
Must adhere to all safety and regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
Ability to read, write, hear, and speak clearly in English.
Lift and move items up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance technology.
