Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Contract)
Pay Rate: $62.53 – $72.33/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday | First Shift (6 AM–3 PM / 9 AM–6 PM) | Optional 9x80
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to support major aerospace programs at our Philadelphia Design Center. In this role, your structural analysis expertise will directly influence the safety, performance, and reliability of advanced air and space systems. From commercial aircraft to defense and space missions, your work will help power engineering decisions on projects with national and global impact.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Perform structural analysis using classical methods and finite element tools to assess loads, stresses, and material performance.
Analyze test results and support certification efforts to confirm that components meet design and regulatory standards.
Document structural characteristics, environments, and performance to support both development and in-service platforms.
Investigate component failures and recommend structural improvements for fielded systems.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop structural substantiation for critical aerospace projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field.
Minimum 2 years of structural analysis experience.
Proficiency in classical stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
Experience using engineering tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or equivalent.
Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Aerospace industry experience in structural/stress analysis.
Familiarity with company-specific engineering and analysis tools.
Knowledge of component certification processes and standards.
