PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician for a 12-month, full-time consulting opportunity in Goleta, CA. In this vital role, you’ll collaborate with engineers and test teams to bring complex systems to life through rigorous testing, analysis, and continuous innovation.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
 

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Technician reporting to the Operations Test Engineering Manager, you’ll take full ownership of your work throughout the entire product lifecycle—from development and production to testing and integration. Your technical insights and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to mission-critical aerospace programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support engineers by executing comprehensive test plans and technical tasks.

• Conduct component and system-level testing, including post-test data processing and reporting.

• Participate in test readiness reviews and planning sessions.

• Analyze measurement requirements and ensure test precision.

• Maintain and enhance test infrastructure and documentation.

• Format and compile technical data and engineering change records.

• Troubleshoot test failures and support manufacturing and inspection teams.

• Generate detailed reports in various customer-specified formats.

• Utilize tools like Spatial Analyzer for laser tracking and alignment tasks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in an engineering or test technician role.

• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and technical documentation.

• Familiarity with measurement analysis and precision test equipment.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and communicate technical findings effectively.

• Proficiency in post-test data analysis and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Laser Tracking Software such as Spatial Analyzer.

• Aerospace or defense industry background.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
