Chipton-Ross is seeking a Reliability Manager for a contract opportunity in Torrance, CA.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: o Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing reliability engineering team responsible for Client vehicle and build quality o Establish the company-wide vision for reliability across programs, systems, and engineering practices o Develop and implement internal standards, training, and structured feedback mechanisms to embed a reliability-first mindset o Act as the primary reliability partner across engineering, manufacturing, program management, and leadership teams o Participate in design and change reviews to ensure reliability concerns are identified and addressed early o Drive continuous improvement through performance and feedback loops for vehicle validation and design evolution o Lead risk management practices: facilitate risk assessments, FMEA sessions, and executive-level readiness reviews o Manage cross-functional issue tracking, containment, and structured root cause/corrective action (RCCA) activities o Lead systemic failure reviews and trend analysis to drive accountability and permanent fixes o Scale processes and tools to support growing product complexity and production volumes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): o Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline o 5+ years of experience in engineering, systems, product reliability, validation, or quality o Demonstrated ability to solve complex, cross-functional product issues using structured methodologies o Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-team collaboration skills
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: o 2+ years of experience managing engineers or technical teams o Ability to evaluate customer and regulatory requirements and translate them into feasible, risk-managed solutions o Experience in leading structured risk and issue reviews using tools such as FMEA, 5-Whys, Fishbone, 8D, or Fault Tree o Experience launching complex high-performance products from development to production o Background in vehicle systems such as Powertrain, composite structures, chassis, suspension, electrical, or software o Familiarity with Jira, SQL, PowerBI, and similar analytics or tracking tools o Familiarity with automotive certifications and compliance expectations o Experience with NX/Teamcenter or comparable CAD/PLM systems
